Develop and coordinate materials and project management activities for materials planning and supplier engagement. Forecasts and communicates engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers; participates in make-versus-buy decisions; manages demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory; forms Materials Core Team and coordinates product development deliverables; collaborates with engineering to interpret requirements; under supervision/releases updates to materials strategy; assists in supplier price/delivery negotiations and may negotiate contracts; uses supplier selection process and conducts supplier risk assessments; monitors supplier performance (delivery, quality, cost); coordinates materials actions across sourcing, commercialization, and change control; supports cost targets, resolves quality issues, and tracks KPIs; works with engineering on lead times and inspection needs; develops supplier roadmaps and applies value analysis; mediates with quality and engineering to resolve issues; escalates as needed; emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and risk management.
