Job Summary
Experienced Materials & Processes Engineer or Principal Materials & Processes Engineer (Composites) is needed to join the Vehicle Engineering team in Iuka, MS. Responsibilities include root cause analysis of material failures, generating test plans and reports, and developing/analyzing materials and related fabrication/assembly processes. Develops material properties and design allowables, reviews subcontractor material processing procedures, may travel to subcontractor locations, and supports aerospace composite structures with a focus on non-metallic processing specifications. Requires working knowledge of chemistry/physics/material behavior and the ability to obtain DoD Secret and SAP clearances. Second shift position with relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with experience in composite materials for airframe structures (Level 2: minimum 2 years)
- BS in STEM with minimum 5 years of experience in composite materials for airframe structures or MS with at least 3 years of experience (Level 3)
- MS in STEM with 3+ years of experience in composite materials (optional for higher level)
- Experience with composite fabrication and design on aircraft
- Experience with repair processes for composite materials used in aerospace structures
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance prior to start
- Ability to obtain and maintain SAP Clearance
- Ability to work 2nd shift
- Travel up to 10% of time
- U.S. Citizenship required for government-clearance roles
