Materials Planning Manager
On-siteMountain View Santa Clara County, California, United States
Job Summary
Build and maintain rolling demand forecasts by analyzing sales pipelines, production schedules, and historical consumption across multiple hardware programs. Run MRP to convert plans into time-phased purchase and production orders, while tuning safety stock targets and reorder points for constrained items like GPUs and power electronics. Own inventory accuracy as the single point of accountability, designing cycle count programs and enforcing bin discipline across Mountain View production and deployed field sites. Manage serialized tracking of high-value components from receipt through deployment and partner with the Controller and FP&A team to ensure physical counts match financial records. Establish real-time visibility dashboards and standard operating procedures to reconcile supply, demand, and capacity as production ramps.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in demand planning, supply/materials planning, or inventory operations, including experience at an early-stage or high-growth hardware company
- A track record of building forecasting and planning models that hold up under real supply constraints — not just theoretical frameworks
- Direct experience diagnosing and resolving recurring supply shortages through root-cause and buffer/safety-stock analysis
- Experience managing inventory or planning across multiple physical sites simultaneously
- Fluent in ERP/MRP systems and comfortable tying demand plans, purchase orders, and physical counts back to the financial record
Desired Qualifications
- Comfort building dashboards or reporting tools from scratch to create shared visibility across supply chain, operations, and finance stakeholders
- The instincts of a builder: detail-obsessed, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to create clarity and process where none existed before
