Materials Planner

Job Summary
Coordinate the flow of materials between suppliers and maintain computerized records of movements to verify inventory numbers and locations for audits. Manage global material orders, physically count inventory levels, and work with logistics to coordinate raw material delivery and pickup/drop-off points. Ensure work is completed safely and efficiently by reviewing inventory levels, bringing material from overseas, and communicating with other plants regarding recipe changes. Create production schedules by collaborating with the production manager and inform management of potential obstacles affecting production. Utilize JD Edwards, Microsoft Excel, and other software for inventory control and ordering while assisting in solving problems prior to impacting production.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Five to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with or training in JDE and Microsoft Excel
- Substantial history working with production related ordering
- Experience making CAD models and CAD drawings with full dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within organization
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills based on objective data available
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to facilitate effective meetings
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to prioritize assignments focus on details and adhere to established deadlines
- Capable of working independently or in a team atmosphere
- Contribute to a productive and positive work environment
- Interact with others with integrity and respect
- Handle more than one assignment at a time and meet technical requirements and completion dates for each project
