Job Summary
The Materials Microelectronics Engineer will join the Advanced Materials and Microsystems Group to advance microelectronic devices from first-of-a-kind demonstrations to prototypes suitable for technology transfer. Responsibilities include developing, overseeing, and documenting process flows for wide-ranging electronic devices and microsystems; planning, executing, and analyzing systematic experiments; collaborating with process engineers to refine flows, experimental plans, and analysis; maintaining safety in laboratory and cleanroom environments; and contributing to reports, presentations, papers, and/or patents. The role requires strong hands-on lab skills, process development and integration experience, proficiency in design of experiments and data analysis, familiarity with photomask/PCB/layout, and programming in MATLAB/Python/LabView, along with effective communication and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- MS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, or a similar field of study
- Experience working in semiconductor, MEMS, or other microfabrication setting
- Experience with hands-on microfabrication process development, process integration, measurements, metrology, failure analysis, and/or electronic device packaging
- Experience with design of experiments, device testing, data and analysis acquisition, and/or programming (MATLAB, Python, LabView)
- Experience with photomask layout, PCB-layout, and/or mechanical design
- Excellent hands-on laboratory skills, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
