Materials Manager

Job Summary
Oversee the end-to-end material lifecycle including receiving, inspection, warehousing, and point-of-use delivery while architecting pull-based systems using supermarkets, 2-bin Kanbans, and tugger routes within a 5S environment. Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated material handling crew responsible for hiring, coaching, and maintaining high performance. Drive multi-shift warehouse operations across staging, cycle counting, and shipping of finished goods and indirect materials, ensuring production never waits on parts and inventory never gathers dust. Act as the functional SAP expert and liaison between the floor and corporate materials strategy. Manage WIP markets and replenishment strategies linked to Heijunka and runner/repeater/stranger analysis. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business with at least five years of progressive operations management experience leading lean initiatives. Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP or similar ERP systems. Fast-paced environment with occasional travel; physical duties include standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business
- At least 5 years of progressive operations management experience
- Experience successfully leading transformational lean initiatives
- Deep understanding of lean manufacturing
- Comfort in a high mix production environment
- Data-driven decision-making
- Solid quantitative skills
- Firm grasp of financial goals
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Availability for occasional travel
