Job Summary
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs. Oversee procurement of raw materials, components, and MRO supplies, ensuring timely delivery and competitive pricing. Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, contract negotiation, and issue resolution. Implement and maintain robust material tracking systems to ensure accurate inventory records and traceability. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability and meet quality standards. Forecast material requirements based on production plans and sales forecasts. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in materials management processes and systems. This role supports leading manufacturing organizations in Hudsonville, MI, where the team focuses on lean manufacturing principles and process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in materials management, production planning, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems for inventory management and production planning
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and their application to materials flow
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of materials professionals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
Desired Qualifications

- Project management certification (e.g., PMP)
