Job Summary
The Materials Manager will oversee all operations associated with Materials Management including production planning, inventory management, router maintenance, receiving, warehousing, material handling, obsolete inventory, and inventory accuracy, while improving safety, quality, and productivity. Focuses on BOM alignment and material flow, validating routings, and synchronizing deliveries to takt time to avoid line stoppages and excess WIP. Responsible for ensuring adequate material supply to enable on-time deliveries, minimizing lead-time, and preventing stockouts; managing inventory reconciliations, cycle counting, item setup/maintenance; overseeing router creation/maintenance; directing Warehouse and Distribution activities; training and mentoring staff for promotions; fostering cross-functional collaboration; driving continuous improvement and ISO process/documentation; researching automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and safety; and ensuring compliance with ISO requirements and engineering/ manufacturing specifications.
Required Qualifications
- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field
- MS/MA in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field (optional)
- 7+ years related experience in a discrete manufacturing setting
- 4 years experience managing others
- Minimum of five (5) years of related Inventory Control
- APICS CPIM(Planning & Inventory) preferred
- CSCP(Supply Chain) preferred
