Materials Lead

Job Summary
Coordinate and execute internal movement of raw materials and inventory between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas to support production schedules. Receive incoming fibers, yarns, and fabrics, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders while updating inventory systems. Manage finished goods inventory through put-away, cycle counting, stock rotation, and regular physical counts to maintain accuracy. Prepare outbound shipments, verify order details, and coordinate loading and dispatch of truck and container loads. Maintain accurate records in the ERP system and communicate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Logistics teams. Build and develop a team of Material Specialists to scale with rising production demands.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–4 years of experience in warehouse, inventory control, materials handling, or logistics
- Solid understanding of inventory control principles and material flow in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs. regularly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and handle physical aspects of material handling (lifting, standing, walking)
- Ability to work in warehouse and production-adjacent environments that may include varying temperatures, dust, and noise
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree or relevant technical training
- Entry-level candidates with strong organizational skills and willingness to learn
- Basic knowledge of textile materials (yarns, fabrics)
- Previous experience in a yarn spinning, weaving, knitting, or fabric manufacturing
- Forklift certification
- Familiarity with quality systems and traceability requirements
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation
