Job Summary
Materials Lead/Team Lead responsible for coordinating inventory and material for a small crew; hands-on working lead with duties including ensuring on-time shift start, hosting morning meetings, delegating tasks, addressing safety concerns, ensuring proper materials/tools are available, training new workers, familiarizing with new equipment, meeting deadlines, enforcing PPE and safe work practices, maintaining high-quality output, problem-solving to improve productivity and quality, ensuring adherence to company policies, assisting in inventory management to prevent shortages, completing required paperwork, maintaining records, setting goals, and supporting 5-S and safety programs; experience with manufacturing processes from raw materials to finished product; strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills; knowledge of AOHS and Employment Standards Code; assets include First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset; 1 or more years’ experience as a production or construction team lead; Direct working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management; Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items; Knowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code; Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization; Strong customer service orientation; First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets; Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product.
