Job Summary
Operate forklift to load/unload and move material within or near plant, yard, or worksite as well as on and off trucks. Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Open containers using steel cutters, claw hammer, or other hand tools. Receive materials into plant and verify materials against invoices to ensure accuracy of delivery. Count or weigh parts to check quantity accuracy. Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, and troubleshooting malfunctions. Document actions and complete production and quality logs. Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Perform general housekeeping in and around personal work space and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to maintain forklift certification
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions
- Knowledge of plant lay out including location of finished products and raw materials
- Knowledge of paperwork flow for shipping and receiving documents
- Knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Entry Level
