Job Summary
Move product from production areas to the warehouse, enter cable into inventory, and complete packaging while maintaining warehouse organization and housekeeping. Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mobile equipment; lift and push material and packaging. Clean general plant areas using a sweeper and assist shipping clerks as time allows. Perform other duties as assigned. This nights shift role supports Southwire's manufacturing of building wire, utility products, and engineered solutions in Hawesville, KY.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and push material and packaging required by warehouse task
- Ability to operate a forklift and other mobile equipment
- Wears all required safety equipment
- Reports all safety violations and hazards to Supervisor and/ or Manager
- Works in a safe manner to prevent accidents
- Never operates equipment that is not working properly or has safety features missing
- Always reports defective or improperly operating equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Additional technical education or training
- Material handling or other relatable experience
- Previous forklift operation
- Communicates effectively
- Works effectively as a team member
