Job Summary
Verify material inventory balances at point of use, stage, and warehouse locations to meet planning targets. Prioritize inventory moves with forklift drivers to support uninterrupted production and coordinate delivery of materials. Investigate issues with material and inventory variances, recommending solutions and resolutions. Post and maintain material planning and NCM files while performing 5S in areas of responsibility. Return to stock material no longer needed and assist cycle counters in counting lineside material. Communicate material shortages immediately to cross-functional teams and facilitate the daily NCM process. Requires forklift certification, ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times daily, and computer/data entry skills. Monday through Thursday schedule with available overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Forklift certification
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure - whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Must possess computer/data entry skills
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure and other measuring tools
- Ability to work with hands and to work in mechanically oriented situations following supervisor's instruction
- Aptitude to learn and retain new information
- Ability to follow instructions, given either verbally or in writing
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) multiple times daily in an 8 to 12 hour shift
- Ability to maneuver large parts and assemblies (up to 180 pounds) by pushing, pulling and flipping them into place
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
Desired Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma
- Prior experience in heavy assembly work
- Must be able to perform work with little supervision
- May be asked to assist in the training of new employees
