Job Summary
Receive, review, and process requests for materials, supplies, and equipment while determining the accuracy of paperwork for purchase requests. Recheck quantities and condition of delivered materials, verify shipments, and certify invoices for payment. Safely operate a forklift to move, stack, load, and unload materials within the facility, serving as Team Leader to operators. Train forklift operators, perform routine cycle counts, and monitor FIFO. Produce system or manual shippers for outbound freight, transmit ASN, and contact customers, suppliers, and carriers to maintain professional relationships. Stage, load, or transport material and containers as needed, file records, and receive inbound material via TRANS4M, PLEX, and CMMSIII. Report shortages, review plant layout for proper container placement, facilitate 5-S activities, and monitor the truck board and Plex monitor.
Required Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience as a Materials Technician or a related role
- High School diploma or GED
- Two (2) years of experience with basic computer skills
- A minimum of one year of experience reading freight bills and bill of ladings
- One year of experience communicating effectively with others in a work environment
- One year of experience working with basic math skills in a work environment (ability to perform inventory cycle counts as needed)
- One year of current experience as a Hi-Lo Driver
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must follow the procedure and safely operate a gas or electric forklift to move, stack, load, and unload material within the facility
- Serves as Team Leader to forklift operators
- Exemplify leadership abilities that encompass minimum supervision authorities
- Train Forklift Operators
- Good communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- One-year certificate from college or technical school preferred
- One year of experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
