Materials Compliance Analyst - Commercial Automotive

Job Summary

Coordinate the gathering and validation of substance and material composition information for purchased materials and components across automotive and non-automotive product lines. Report compliance with U.S., European, international, customer, and internal standards regarding REACH, RoHS, POPs, Prop 65, PFAS, IMDS, and FMD data requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to obtain, verify, and track required data while managing recertification for new and existing products. Assess the impact of emerging regulations and customer-specific requests on product compliance. Create status reports for management and customers, working cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Legal.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Engineering Degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience managing product material compliance programs
  • Industry experience in compliance or regulatory activities, particularly related to substances and materials
  • Experience navigating IMDS, FMD, and regulatory reporting frameworks (REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, PFAS, POPs)
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • IMDS Awareness: Basic understanding of how the IMDS database works; ability to navigate the system and knowledge of required data for creating submissions
  • Substances & Materials Management: Awareness of current and upcoming reporting regulations and associated reporting obligations for material compliance
  • Basic Chemistry Knowledge: Understanding of material and component composition sufficient to identify potential regulatory issues
  • Regulatory Frameworks: Working knowledge of REACH, RoHS, POPs, Prop 65, PFAS, and FMD requirements across U.S. and European markets
  • Must be authorized to work in the country of the job posting location on a full-time basis
