Materials Application Engineer

Job Summary
The Materials Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for Struers’ materials testing equipment, including conducting product demonstrations, preparing customer samples, and delivering training programs for both customers and internal teams. The role requires strong materialographic expertise, proficiency with technical software applications, and excellent communication skills to effectively educate and support customers. The position also involves collaboration with Sales and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with materialographic sample preparation and microscopy required
- Experience with hardness testing and/or image analysis software preferred
- Clean driving record
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including overnight travel
- Familiarity with ISO and ASTM standards (including ISO 17025, ASTM E10, E18, E92/E384)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical software applications
- Structured and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation and product demonstration skills (in person and virtual)
- Training and facilitation capability
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and globally
