Job Summary

Generate processes for contamination-sensitive spaceflight hardware across all life cycle phases, including assembly, integration, storage, and testing. Assess hardware design for material selection issues and develop contamination control procedures while overseeing prevention efforts. Generate reports, presentations, and documentation to support acceptance standards for spaceflight applications. Attend meetings and teleconferences to discuss design, analysis, qualification, and acceptance plans. This role supports NASA Langley Research Center within the Research, Science and Engineering Services contract. Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or chemical engineering required with experience in spaceflight contamination control.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or chemical engineering
  • Experience with Contamination Control for spaceflight hardware
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, and their associated processes, uses, applications and limitations
  • Ability to work independently under general direction only
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • US citizenship or Permanent Residence

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous work experience with spaceflight hardware in a cleanroom environment
