Job Summary
Lead ongoing R&D initiatives to advance materials, construction, and performance technologies for next-generation pickleball paddles. Partner directly with elite athletes to develop, test, and refine products while establishing and refining testing protocols and performance benchmarks. Translate athlete feedback and lab data into actionable improvements by working cross-functionally with product, sourcing, and manufacturing teams. Identify emerging trends and innovations within pickleball and adjacent industries to ensure competitive leadership. Oversee testing resources and drive product innovation behind the scenes. Occasional overnight travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in materials development, performance testing, or technical product validation
- Experience ideally within consumer sporting goods or composite manufacturing
- Proven success managing multi phase, multi million dollar projects
- Experience working with global manufacturing partners
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Ability to travel up to 10% via car, plane or train including overnight stays
