Job Summary
The Advanced Microscopy team seeks an experienced Materials Analyst to operate and analyze materials using TEM in a hands-on, production-focused role supporting advanced materials and semiconductor analysis. Responsibilities include obtaining bright field, high-resolution, diffraction patterns, dark field TEM and HAADF STEM images; acquiring STEM/EDX and STEM/EELS spectra, line scans, and maps; organizing data and delivering summary reports to customers; partnering with customers and team members to optimize experiments and explain results; and developing TEM analysis protocols for new sample types. The role requires strong technical contribution in a fast-paced lab, with shift schedule from 5pm-2am (Tuesdays to Saturdays or Sundays to Thursdays) with shift differential. ITAR restrictions apply; U.S. Persons (citizen, green card holder, asylum/refugee) are eligible. A BS or MS in Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience is required. Required Qualifications
- BS or MS only: Materials Science and Engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
- Excellent operation and theory understanding of Transmission Electron Microscope
- Experience with TEM sample preparation and hard materials characterization
- Solid understanding of one or more areas of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis
- Familiarity with aberration-correction TEM (preferred)
- Familiarity with FEI Tecnai TEM/STEM, Oxford/Bruker EDS, Gatan EELS, Digital Micrograph (preferred)
