Job Summary
Material Prep Operator to cut plastic stock with saws and punch presses, inspect raw materials and finished blanks, maintain records of material usage and dimensions, and assist in material staging. The role requires following safety protocols, supporting changeovers and quick setups for frequent job changes, and performing routine maintenance on cutting and punching equipment. Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and basic math skills are essential. The work environment is a production floor with exposure to noise, moving parts, and PPE usage; ability to lift up to 40 lbs is required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a plastics manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environment.
- Prior experience operating saws, punch presses, or similar material prep equipment (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Familiarity with machine setup, tooling changes, and basic troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
- Knowledge of using measurement tools such as calipers and tape measures.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, cut lists, and basic drawings.
