Job Summary
The Material Planning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing material planning to ensure the efficient supply of materials for production. Key responsibilities include developing material planning strategies, monitoring inventory levels, collaborating with production and logistics teams, analyzing material requirements, resolving material shortages, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, experience in material planning or supply chain management, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MRP and ERP systems. Leadership experience and the ability to mentor a team are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in material planning software and ERP systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Proficiency in MRP systems to forecast material needs and schedule procurement
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): Familiarity with ERP software like SAP or Oracle to manage supply chain processes
- Inventory Management: Ability to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste using PFEP methodologies
- Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma: Knowledge of lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies to improve efficiency and reduce defects
- Forecasting: Strong ability to predict future material needs based on production schedules and market trends
