Material Planning Supervisor

Job Summary
Procurement Supervisor leads a team of Material Planners who evaluate forecasted demand across business segments and procure materials to support warehousing and distribution. Responsible for overall performance of the material planning department, establishing planning strategies, monitoring material availability and inventory levels, escalating shortages with suppliers, and coordinating production schedules to meet KPIs. Interfaces with suppliers, internal departments, and Supply Chain Management colleagues; leads Monthly Volume Review meetings with Product Management/Sales to align sales and inventory targets; collaborates on IT projects (EDI, SAP MM) and drives continuous improvement in lead times and freight cost. Requires SAP Material Management experience, 5+ years in procurement/material planning, strong leadership, and 10% travel. Preferred additional qualifications include a Masters in Logistics/Supply Chain, CPIM/CSCP certifications, and experience in the automotive industry. Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.; relocation assistance may be offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR 10 years of relevant work experience in lieu of the degree
- SAP experience in SAP module Material Management
- 5 plus years’ experience in Procurement / Material Planning / Material Management
- Leadership experience
- 10% travel domestic and international is required
