Job Summary
Material Planner in automotive manufacturing responsible for coordinating production materials to ensure 100% on-time delivery in a Just-In-Time/Just-In-Sequence environment. Manages inbound/outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, and line-side material availability with a focus on minimizing inventory and logistics costs while maintaining quality and compliance. Serves as the lead interface for Mopar requirements, handles tickets, and maintains a 90%+ delivery rating. Leads and trains team members in goods receiving, storage, material handling, and waste disposal; supports personnel development and performance. Ensures compliance with audits and standards (PPAP, PSO, IATF 16949, CSR, ISO 14001) and has the authority to stop production when safety or quality issues arise. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proficient with SAP and MRO workflows; familiarity with esupplierconnect.com and Mopar Service Requirements; English is required with additional languages considered an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 / OSSD or equivalent
- APICS / PMAC training strongly preferred
- 3+ years in a materials/production planning role within a manufacturing environment; Tier-1 automotive experience is a plus
- Experience in JIT/JIS supply chains and familiarity with Chrysler-based material flow is a plus
- Working knowledge of SAP; experience with esupplierconnect.com and Mopar Service Requirements strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written); excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities (8D, 5-Why)
- Languages: English required; Spanish, German, and French considered an asset
