Job Summary
Material Planner II coordinates planning and scheduling from order receipt through quality control to meet delivery schedules and quality goals. Works with cross-functional teams and other departments to support on-time production, manages job loading to manufacturing work cells to balance capacity, coordinates with purchasing to ensure timely material arrival, interfaces with design and manufacturing engineers for new product introductions, reviews ECNs/NCRs/waivers for correct revision levels and disposition, maintains reports on performance to schedule and backlog, sets production priorities, supports physical inventories, and collaborates with suppliers and other planners. Must have strong MS Office skills, experience with MRP/ERP systems, and the ability to input data into manufacturing databases; travel may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in shop floor control and capacity planning
- Demonstrated ability to shift priorities based on business demand
- Knowledge of firearms; quality, features, safety, etc.
- APICS certification (Preferred)
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word; MS PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to collect and document data
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to adapt to regulatory and business changes
- Travel occasionally
