Job Summary
Material Planner responsible for procurement of new and existing products within a Tier 1 ERP system, coordinating with operations, project managers and engineers to source components and support the production schedule. Manages material cost/performance forecasting, expediting materials to meet schedules, communicates delivery plans and shortages, and serves as the point of contact for contracts and manufacturers. Collaborates with site leadership on inventory levels and order quantities, reviews POs and quotes for applicability and compliance, identifies program risks related to material requirements, analyzes lead times and critical path procurements, ensures on-time release and PO delivery, monitors supplier capacity, and interfaces with contracts, finance, engineering, operations, quality, scheduling, etc. Supports BOM costing and lead time analysis, evaluates suppliers, maintains MRP master data, and presents supply chain updates during PMRs and leadership briefings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience in a MRP manufacturing environment or related technical discipline with an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience
- Experience in materials planning, sourcing or procurement in a production environment
- Product lifecycle experience in manufacturing and PLM database knowledge desirable
- Understanding engineering and manufacturing bills of material and drawings, BOM structures, manufacturing test and quality control processes
- Ability to manage and exceed at delivering on multiple high priority tasks
- Strong team collaboration and analytical skills with ability to execute and follow-through on tasks to completion
- Superior organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative
- Demonstrated working knowledge of MRP purchasing, Outlook and Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)
- Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems
- Strong oral verbal and written communications skills
