Job Summary
Handle and maintain material flow on the premises by lifting, carrying, and stacking items to optimize movement. Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment while responding to training from foremen to master work processes. Adhere to all safety procedures and attend periodic safety meetings to prevent injury, recommending improvements where necessary. Perform tasks requiring lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and 80 pounds on occasion within a production environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, noise, and dust. This entry-level position requires a high school diploma or GED and offers on-the-job training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Knowledge of and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
- Manual dexterity
- Knowledge of safety procedures while performing materials handling tasks
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds
