Job Summary
Receive incoming shipments of raw materials, chemicals, and supplies from FedEx and UPS, then log all deliveries into the inventory system. Organize the dry storage area to maintain FIFO standards and stage cartons and materials required for daily production runs. Retrieve and put away pallets up to 24 feet using stand-up and articulated forklifts while maintaining yard inventory of supplier and company-owned trailers. Monitor and report any deviations from Food Safety and Food Quality programs to your immediate supervisor. Work the entire shift on the plant floor in a cool, wet environment with temperatures between 34-38 degrees.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Stand-Up fork trucks and Bendi Articulated fork trucks
- Ability to pass and maintain state forklift safety certification
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and tankers
- Must possess the physical ability to work the entire shift on the plant floor working in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-38 degrees
- Ability to use scan gun to receive and move pallets
- Ability to learn and become proficient in company's ERP system
- Must be able to take the initiative, work independently and as part of a team
- Detail oriented team member with a strong, honest work ethic and the ability to handle multiple tasks daily
- Must be able to effectively communicate with multiple parties and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with occasional conflicting time sensitive tasks
- Good organization skills and solid grasp of the needs of production to keep storage inventory at optimum levels
