Job Summary
Material Handler maintains material requirements for production, moves materials and containers to meet production schedules, identifies labeled materials, cleans and prepares work areas and equipment, loads materials into hoppers, and mixes materials per product requirements. Requires ability to read safety and operating instructions, write routine reports, present information to coworkers, and apply fractions/percentages/ratios. Must be able to operate a forklift, stand/walk for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and work in a moderate-noise manufacturing environment. Based in Scottsdale, AZ with standard benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Frequently required walking and reaching with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb or balance
- Able to operate forklift
- Material Handler Essential Functions
- Reads production schedule and determines material requirements for production
- Moves materials and containers from storage or work sites to designated areas to meet requirements of production schedule
- Identifies materials and containers with suitable tags or labels
- Cleans work areas, machines, and equipment to assist operators
- Loads loose materials into hoppers and containers
- Mix materials according to product requirements
- Performs other duties that may be assigned
- Material Handler Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk, and hear
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read applicable instructions
