Material Handler - Team Lead

Job Summary
Provide daily direction and support to Material Handlers while performing material handling duties such as transporting materials, loading/unloading shipments, and verifying inventory against purchase orders. Monitor workflow to prevent production downtime, coordinate timely deliveries to lines, and resolve inventory discrepancies or shortages by communicating with Purchasing, Shipping, and Production. Ensure warehouse and production storage areas meet 5S standards through routine checks, cycle counts, and physical audits. Promote safety compliance by enforcing PPE requirements, conducting equipment inspections, and reporting accidents or unsafe conditions immediately. Assist with training team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures while leading continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow and storage efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the shift
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
- PPE requirements compliance

- Previous leadership or team lead experience
- Experience with ERP systems
