Job Summary
Lead a Material Handler team on the 1st shift (hours 6:00am-2:00pm) coordinating forklift and material movements to support assembly and production, with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Responsibilities include operating/learning forklift and other equipment, following established procedures, training and mentoring newer employees, cross-training across product areas, participating in team activities and meetings, and continuously improving processes and workflows. The role requires ERP system familiarity, safety compliance, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to overtime or early starts as needed. Also supports Drive to Zero initiatives and may lead portions of projects or training initiatives. Occasional travel and weekend overtime may be required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of material handling/forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- forklift certified
- Ability to operate or learn to operate material handling equipment
- Ability to identify and resolve basic problems
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
- Models positive and professional work ethics
- Effective communication skills
- Cross-training across multiple operations
