Job Summary
As a Material Handler on SMF’s 1st and 2nd shift teams, you’ll keep the production floor stocked, safe, and efficient by delivering materials to production areas on time, staging and pulling inventory, maintaining in-process inventory, verifying Bills of Lading and tagging materials, recording deliveries, performing equipment inspections and basic maintenance, and transporting products to storage areas. Requires OSHA forklift certification and at least 2 years of material-handling experience in heavy manufacturing or a machine shop setting; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a team-driven, deadline-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in material handling/fork truck operation in a heavy manufacturing or machine shop setting
- OSHA-compliant forklift certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet physical demands
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Solid math, reading, and communication skills
- Team-focused mindset and deadline-driven attitude
