Job Summary
Prepare and package fiber optic cable for shipment, bag orders per customer specifications, and load outgoing shipments on trucks daily. Lift, move, sort, and place pallets and boxes from bin locations to staging areas, then securely band and wrap them. Compare data sheets to picking tickets, verify counts and weights against bills of lading, and match address labels to tags while attaching UL labels as needed. Process small packages through Fed Ex and UPS software, use wireless RF devices or desktop computers, and assist with daily team projects and quarterly inventories. Operate sit-down forklifts, two-wheeled carts, and pallet jacks while following all safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience in Shipping
- Computer and organizational skills
- Ability to properly package, inspect and ship product
- Ability to read and follow basic instructions
- Ability to understand and implement quality procedures
- Math skills
- Handwriting skills
- Ability to correctly complete all documentation
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Ability to complete assignments accurately
- Ability to recognize and help resolve problems
