Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Material Handler performs routine production and material handling activities to support efficient workflow. Responsibilities include transferring, allocating, and storing raw materials, supplies, and finished products; staging and preparing materials for production; assisting with line clear-out procedures; safely operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.); supporting inventory counts and audits; monitoring shelf-life controlled materials; documenting lot numbers and purchase orders; labeling and tagging materials; coordinating with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure material availability and smooth production scheduling; assisting with shipping/receiving, inspecting incoming shipments, and preparing outbound shipments; maintaining accurate inventory and documentation; adhering to safety policies, 5S practices, and housekeeping standards; and performing other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in production or material handling
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Familiarity with production machinery, equipment, and processes
- Training in material handling, safety, and lot documentation
- Knowledge of FOD prevention practices and 5S lean methodologies in a warehouse/production environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork
- Knowledge of inventory control, material handling, and warehouse practices preferred
