Job Summary
Material Handler I performs general labor tasks in movement of material. Responsible for picking and staging parts/equipment to support production/shipping schedules, verifying inventory counts and locations, and reporting to supervisor. Supports one of Inventory Control, Parts/Equipment Shipping, or Receiving. Responsibilities include pulling/re-reporting parts accurately from an order/pack list, reporting operations in JDE, staging material for shifts, maintaining accurate part identification and storage locations, following production/shipping schedules, cross-referencing materials with schedules, moving materials safely, completing cycle counts, reporting discrepancies, reporting non-conforming material, ensuring proper space for storage or shipment, maintaining a clean work area, and communicating with coworkers. Emphasizes safety procedures (SAFESTART) and core values (Act Like an Owner; Be Interesting; Create Change; Seek New Perspectives; Fail Fast).
Required Qualifications
- One + years of related material handling or inventory control experience required.
- Previous forklift, truck/trailer experience, required.
- Forklift license, preferred.
- Ability to read tape measure up to 1/32", and ability to interpret dial caliper measurements and hand tools as needed.
- Intermediate computer skills are required; must be able to use computer systems to look-up information, clock-in/clock-out, and report work activities. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required, and Microsoft Outlook is preferred.
- Good math skills are required; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- ERP experience is preferred.
