Material Handler (Night Shift)

Job Summary
Receive, store, and distribute raw materials, components, and finished products to designated areas while maintaining inventory accuracy. Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment to ensure timely delivery to production lines. Conduct cycle counts, organize storage spaces, and communicate shortages to supervisors. Collaborate with manufacturing stages to optimize material flow and follow safety protocols for hazardous materials. Work outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions, lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally. Requires 1+ years of warehousing experience, forklift certification, and ability to pass drug screens and background checks. Gulf Island does not sponsor work visas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years experience in material handling or warehousing in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
- Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management procedures
- Ability to read work orders, shipping documents and material specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to organize and ensure the consistent flow of materials, parts and products
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with material handling or warehousing for the assembly of generator enclosures
- Forklift Certification
- Pallet Jack Certification
