Job Summary
Operate forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within a plant or warehouse. Maintain records and verify labels on boxes while matching them to pallets with essential attention to detail. Scan items and perform basic math calculations in a metrics-driven environment while adhering to clearly defined SOPs and quality guidelines. Work under general to limited supervision, primarily handling manual labor such as unloading trucks and stacking pallets, with a requirement to lift and move items over 50 lbs. This 12-month contract in Woburn, MA, involves a 40-hour first shift with exposure to extreme temperatures and moving mechanical parts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
- Stand up forklift experience
- Ability to verify labels on boxes and matching to pallets
- Attention to detail
- Scanning experience
- Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
- General computer skills
- Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
- Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Mainly manual labor - unloading trucks and stacking pallets - under 25 lbs (some weigh less than 5 lbs)
- Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)
- Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Ability to perform basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method
- Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method
