Job Summary
Load, unload and move finished products, work in progress and raw materials to the point of use in the manufacturing process or for other inventory purposes. Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts and moving apparatus. Enter data into job tracking and quality software programs. Inspect forklifts before operation and report maintenance issues. Read work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Open containers as required. Load and unload containers/pallets and place materials within work cell or storage areas. Secure lifting attachments and convey loads to destination. Count, weigh and record units moved daily. Attach materials or mark information on containers. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist. Follow safety policies and participate in safety training. Safety requirements include PPE usage and potential exposure to typical warehouse environment.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: Related experience preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively communicate/present information in a one-on-one and small group situation
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Ability to foster a positive team environment
