Job Summary
Operate forklifts, conveyers, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished goods within the plant, office, or warehouse. Maintain records by verifying labels on boxes and matching them to pallets while scanning items. Execute routine tasks under general to limited supervision by adhering to clearly defined SOPs, scientific methods, and quality guidelines. Perform manual labor including unloading trucks and stacking pallets, with the ability to lift and move items over 50 lbs. Requires stand-up forklift experience, attention to detail, and basic computer skills for a metrics-driven environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Zero (0) to one (1) year warehouse experience or related experience and/or training
- Stand up forklift experience
- Ability to verify labels on boxes and matching to pallets
- Attention to detail
- Scanning experience
- Ability to read, write, interpret and comprehend documents written in English
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
- General computer skills
- Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (hot in summer, cold in winter)
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to work with vibration
- Ability to work in high, precarious places
- Ability to handle fumes/airborne particles
- Ability to work without AC
- Ability to work with limited heating
- Ability to tolerate moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to work under general to limited supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Mainly manual labor - unloading trucks and stacking pallets - under 25 lbs (some weigh less than 5 lbs)
- Has basic skills training in an analytical / scientific method or operational process area (e.g., material handling and management, logistics, manufacturing production)
- Effective communication skills at a level co-workers and Team Lead/Supervisor can understand
- Ability to maintain records
- Develops skills in basic tasks, techniques and procedures within one skill area / process / method
- Applies basic knowledge and skills to complete routine tasks consisting of prescribed steps
- Works within clearly defined SOPs and / or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Obtains and/or maintains appropriate licenses / training / certifications, as needed
