Job Summary
Monitor all phases of the slitter support group while following the finishing schedule to maintain safety and quality. Identify each roll with the proper pre-designated number, carry out verbal and written instructions, and complete paperwork and data entry accurately. Pick and pack orders for operating and shipping, then monitor deviations in materials and running conditions to make corrections with crew assistance and report issues to the supervisor. Participate in crew activities to follow environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards, including 5S activities and maintaining a clean workstation. Maintain and account for assigned tools and equipment while operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have valid Forklift Operator's license or pass required training
- Must be willing and available to train on all Finishing equipment
- Must maintain and account for assigned tools and equipment
- Ability to use basic computer system's hardware and software
- Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with various levels of plant personnel
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time without sitting
- Must be able to stoop, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, or crawling
- Reflective clothing, eye and foot protection are mandatory
- Hearing protection in required areas
