Job Summary
Retrieve material and stage necessary items at designated locations along the production line to ensure continuous flow without halts. Deliver or route materials to departments using stand-up forklifts, RF scanners, and pallet jacks while maintaining accurate inventory through proper scanning procedures. Read production schedules and stacking patterns to determine sorting, transfer, and arrangement of packages for correct destination. Provide prompt communication about plant issues to QA, engineering, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement. Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal error, adhering to EHS&S policies, GMP, and food safety requirements. Report accidents and incidents immediately, participate in required training, and support efforts to implement the Responsible Care 14001 management system.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid stand-up forklift certification
- 1 or more years of stand-up forklift experience
- Ability to lift over 50 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to frequently perform repetitive reaching, grasping and lifting of product, materials and boxes weighing up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to frequently understand and follow verbal communication
- Ability to frequently provide clear written communication
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
- Ability to regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head, bend or twist the neck and trunk
- Ability to provide prompt communication about plant issues to QA, engineering and or maintenance teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal error
- Ability to deliver or route materials to departments using stand up forklifts, RF Scanners, pallet jacks, and other warehousing equipment
- Ability to maintain accurate product and material inventory through proper use of RF Scanner and inventory control procedures
- Ability to successfully work both ends of the production line efficiently
- Ability to keep record of equipment performance and report any issues
- Ability to perform accurate completion of quality checks and adhere to quality assurance guidelines
- High attention to detail
- Strong prioritization and time management skills
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving ability with little guidance required
- Must have basic skills using computer software and RF Scanners
- Ability to understand the EHS&S risks and impacts of the employee's job and functional area, including appropriate controls and procedures
- Ability to understand the EHS&S impacts/consequence that could result if specified procedures are not followed
- Ability to report accidents and incidents to a supervisor or the EHS&S department
- Willingness to participate in required EHS&S training
- Ability to maintain a safe, legal, and environmentally protective operation
- Ability to listen to customers, suppliers, and employees
- Ability to respond quickly to customer concerns
- Ability to follow set guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality, and food safety requirements
- Ability to maintain training on applicable procedures in quality, GMP, and food safety
- Ability to report any food safety, security, and / or quality issues to management or the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) team
