Job Summary
Crane Aerospace & Electronics seeks a Material Handler - Kitting for 1st shift in Elyria, OH. Responsible for picking, issuing, and transporting material and tools, receiving and counting incoming material, stocking and distributing parts per blueprints, maintaining accurate stock records, and moving work in process between workstations. Tasks include identifying parts, posting receipts and withdrawals, maintaining inventory levels, performing rework and safety checks, and completing required documentation. Must have a High School Diploma, basic math and reading skills, ability to read military packaging and export documentation, read blueprints, use computer terminals, and handle a range of parts; experience with inventory management, charts/records, and coordination with internal/external customers is required. The role operates in a manufacturing environment with potential physical requirements and adherence to ITAR-related controls.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, percentages)
- Basic reading skills
- Ability to read and comprehend coded requirements for military packaging and export documents
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, detail sheets, and manufacturing outlines
- Ability to use computer terminals and basic software
- Ability to grasp small parts (screws, nuts, bolts) and handle heavier parts (castings, barstock, packaging materials)
- Ability to perform materials receiving, counting, storage, and movement of stock
- Ability to maintain stock records and inventory levels
- Ability to perform safety checks and documentation for non-conformances
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing shop floor environment
- Eligibility considerations related to ITAR and access to controlled data
- Basic documentation skills (operator inspection records, NCRs, move tickets, stock tickets)
- Ability to work with internal and external customers and suppliers
