Job Summary
Independently operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move materials within the plant and unload incoming carriers from outside vehicles. Use inventory/ERP systems to process material transactions and track inventory levels while reading Bill of Materials. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, vendors, co-workers, and supervisors while fulfilling essential job functions safely. Requires 2-3 years of material handling or forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. 1st shift schedule from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Must maintain forklift certification for position
- Minimum 2-3 years of material handling/forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or distribution environment required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally
- Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack properly and safely after provided training
- Ability to use inventory/ERP systems for material transactions and inventory tracking
- Ability to read and comprehend Bill of Materials
- Ability to be proactive in continuous improvement
- Basic computer skills to operate Company software
- Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner
- Will not impose on self or others as a direct threat to health or safety
- Ability to work in all material handling area/functions, not limited to fork lift operation only
- Ability to learn repetitive tasks quickly
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees
- Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, vendors, co-workers, and Supervisors
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Experience using ERP/inventory systems such as PLEX preferred
- Previous experience supporting shipping/receiving, inventory control, material flow and product support preferred
