Job Summary
Load and unload various size containers including totes, drums, tankers, and trailers. Construct boxes and fiber containers, stack materials, and label loads for processing at site or transportation. Use tools such as impact wrenches, shovels, and jackhammers to transport hazardous waste materials from storage facilities as directed. Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and containers according to RCRA and disposal guidelines. Assist in completing necessary paperwork for material processing and perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Inspect material handling equipment as directed and assist in loading/unloading at designated sites using appropriately trained equipment.
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
- Prior work experience of 3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related position
- Proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools
- Ability to communicate through reading and writing
- Trained in the use of material handling equipment
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
