Job Summary
Load and unload various size containers using mechanical or manual means, transport hazardous materials within the facility, and perform manual labor for waste movement and processing. Recognize container markings, labels, and types while following procedures and directing from supervisors. Operate mobile and fixed equipment, conduct equipment inspections, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums according to RCRA guidelines and assist with necessary paperwork.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED)
- Prior work experience of 3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related position
- Proficiency in handling forklifts
- Proficiency in a variety of tools
- Ability to communicate through reading and writing
- Trained in the use of material handling equipment
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred
- Prior work experience of 3 to 6 months in the hazardous waste or chemical industry in a related position with proficiency in handling forklifts and a variety of tools preferred
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred
