Job Summary

Assist compounders with flavor product production by handling, measuring, and packaging chemical ingredients for shipment. Operate machinery such as conveyors and forklifts safely while maintaining inventory movements and FIFO procedures. Demonstrate initiative to perform various tasks independently 30-70% of the time and apply EHS considerations to protect health and safety. Work under direct supervision with occasional overtime on an as-needed basis. Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, wear PPE, and use SAP programs for automated material management.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions applicable to the handling, measurements, etc. of various chemical ingredients and products.
  • Must be capable of physically standing, and capable of lifting/carrying on the average of 50 lbs. repetitively during an 8-hour work shift / consistently for a 40-hour work week.
  • Required to comprehend and apply automated material management practices with accuracy (e.g., SAP program)
  • Operate production machinery and equipment (e.g., conveyers, forklifts, etc.) in a safe manner as outlined by company policies and manufacturer's instructions.
  • Demonstrate leadership in learning and consistently applying company safety policies, practices and procedures in a manner that prevents injuries and other operational losses.
  • Work overtime on an as-needed basis.
  • Will be required to demonstrate initiative for performing various job tasks on an as-needed basis 30-70% of the time, without specific directions (after learning how to perform the job tasks and when they should be done).
  • Ensure all processes and procedures related to inventory management are maintained and followed. Includes but not limited to inventory movements related to production regarding FIFO, quantities consumed, movement # and location.
  • Responsible for checking equipment and tools prior to usage. If obvious damage/malfunction is noticed or if unsure about operability, report immediately.
  • Responsible to consistently apply EHS considerations to protect health and safety of oneself and others' and prevent adverse effects to environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English on a level needed to interact with other employees, as needed in the performance of work duties.
  • Able to perform basic math calculations, with the use of a calculator.
  • Computer knowledge is essential.
  • Basic comprehension of chemical and physical hazard information and application of safety procedures as needed, given information provided.
  • Safe operation of material handling and packaging equipment on a consistent basis.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials on a repetitive basis.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee will be required to wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, eye protection, gloves, uniforms, and safety shoes.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment a plus.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
