Job Summary
Material Handler I responsible for unloading, moving, and storing a variety of materials, following routing and delivery tickets, and performing inventory transactions in the G&W business system. Responsibilities include bin maintenance, reporting shortages or damaged material, loading/outgoing shipments with hand trucks or pallet jacks, releasing Kanbans, conducting cycle counts, and training others in material-handler tasks. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally, operate pallet jacks, read Bills of Material, and work in a team-oriented warehouse/manufacturing environment. Shift is 5:00am–1:30pm at the Bolingbrook, IL facility, with safety and quality procedures emphasized; strong emphasis on inventory accuracy and physical material movement within the facility.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to safely use pallet jacks and other manual moving equipment
- Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material
- Basic to intermediate computer skills
- 0-1 years of experience in manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively with others to support manufacturing processes
- Ideally prior warehouse or manufacturing experience
