Job Summary
Unload trucks and railroad cars, replenish product, and pick orders using a forklift until filled. Use handheld scanners for receiving, picking, loading, and cycle counting per WMS processes. Band, wrap, and prepare materials for shipping while arranging orders by safe weight distribution. Report shortages or damage, consult sales on order changes, and perform routine maintenance like cleaning and forklift inspections. Cross-train and back up teammates while adhering to all safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 1-2 years warehouse experience
- Neat and clean appearance
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to operate a forklift
- Must be able to use a handheld scanner
- Must be able to follow safety procedures and policies
- Must be available for 1st shift hours from 7:30am CST till work is finished for the day
- Must be able to unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars
- Must be able to replenish product in the designated location in the warehouse
- Must be able to pick orders using a forklift
- Must be able to report problems such as shortages or damaged material
- Must be able to inquire with sales team member when orders cannot be shipped as ordered
- Must be able to make changes as directed by sales
- Must be able to use handheld scanner when receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks and cycle counting
- Must be able to collaborate with Warehouse Management System (WMS) Coordinator
- Must be able to band, wrap and prepare material for safe shipping
- Must be able to arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices
- Must be able to fill orders for incoming customers
- Must be able to perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning warehouses/yard
- Must be able to inspect the forklift prior to daily operation
- Must be able to cross train and back-up others in warehouse
- Must have strong initiative
- Must be a self-starter
- Must have a continuous-improvement mindset
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross-functional team environment
- Must have working knowledge and techniques associated with organizing and setting priorities
