Job Summary
Material Handler needed to support distribution, prepping, kitting, docking, and inventory control in an onsite role at our Ooltewah, TN facility. Responsibilities include layout and fit of components into welding fixtures, safe operation of fork trucks, assigning inventory locations, completing paperwork and computer transactions for inventory movement, cycle counting, 5S housekeeping, and notifying teams about parts shortages, late work orders, or BOM issues. Requires reading and understanding work orders, basic math and English fluency, forklift certification (or ability to obtain), and the ability to lift up to 33 lbs. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration within a production environment and is offered with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Proven ability to operate forklifts safely
- Basic computer skills, specifically with performing inventory transactions
- Forklift certified or ability to successfully complete Epiroc approved forklift certification program
- Solid math and counting skills with emphasis on consistency and accuracy
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Ability to read and understand work order routings and instructions
- Ability to assist production with assembly and machine completions
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills
