Job Summary
Pick material for customer orders, count and verify items against shipping documentation, and pack appropriately for pickup or shipment. Load and unload trucks while operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Receive vendor shipments and customer returns by obtaining packing slips, verifying material, and entering data into the computer system. Maintain warehouse cleanliness by removing debris and report safety issues or inventory discrepancies to the supervisor. Assist teammates in servicing customers at the counter and complete required documentation for third-party carriers.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
- Able to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders
- Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
- Intermediate math skills
Desired Qualifications
- College and/or University degree
- Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
- Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
