Job Summary
Pull material to fill customer orders using powered industrial trucks, side loaders, or overhead cranes. Pack, band, tag, and stage material for shipment, then complete paperwork by entering order information into the computer. Load orders onto trucks for delivery or unload inbound material, while receiving stock into inventory and relocating items as required. Inspect stock for tolerance and perform necessary safety checks on equipment, maintaining good housekeeping in the work area. Occasionally operate a saw for cut-to-length orders. This role involves working in a warehouse with environmental demands including noise, vibration, and chemicals, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for eight hours.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in warehouse operations
- knowledge of computers
- good math skills
- ability to occasionally lift, push, pull and raise objects up to 50 pounds
- ability to hear equipment warning sounds, spoken work instructions
- ability to read shipping documents, computer screen, tags, micrometers and tape measures
Desired Qualifications
- experience in the operation of heavy equipment
- experience in the metal distribution or related metal industry
